چکیده

Biological dressings including human amniotic membrane have been used to cover wounds or skin defects and enhance healing by providing a structural format to the underlying tissue. Human amniotic membrane was first used as wound dressing in 1910 by JS Davis [1]. The amniotic membrane obtained from human placenta possesses most of the characteristics of an ideal skin substitute even after processed into amnion grafts. Amnion is capable to maintain a physiologically moist microenvironment that promotes healing [1, 2]. Amnion has strong structure but yet elastic and soft, making it the most currently accepted tissue replacement to reconstruct human tissue [3]. In addition, amnion does not cause immunological reactions and it is very light since the material is very thin. Amnion permits early mobilization of patients, and patients’ bodies can accept amnion quite well. It also has the ability to conform well to body contour [4].

Biophysical properties of single potassium channel in the brain mitochondrial inner membrane of male rat with Alzheimer’s disease

Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, characterized by impairment of memory and changes in behavior and personality. Recent evidence suggests that mitochondrial channels play important roles in memory disorders. Accordingly, the biophysical properties of a single potassium channel were investigated in the brain mitochondrial inner membrane of rat with...

Development of a Sterile Amniotic Membrane Tissue Graft Using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide.

Numerous techniques have been reported for preparing and sterilizing amniotic membrane (AM) for use in clinical applications. However, these preparations either do not produce completely sterile tissue or are detrimental to molecules unique to the tissue matrix, thus compromising beneficial wound-healing properties of the AM graft. The objective of this work was to produce a sterile human AM ti...

Antibacterial Effect of Human Amnion Membrane

Abstract Background and Objective: Along with antibiotics, the use of biological methods to combat bacteria is notably considered. A natural barrier such as amniotic membrane is one of the ways of dealing with bacterial infections. The aim of this study was to determine the antibacterial effect of human amniotic membrane. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was performed in Dezyani te...

Biophysical and electropharmacological properties of single mitoKATP channel in rat brain mitochondrial inner membrane

Introduction: Different ATP-sensitive potassium channels have been detected in the mitochondrial inner membrane of cells. They are suggested to be involved in cell processes including cell protection. Here, we characterized the biophysical and electropharmacological properties of a KATP channel in the brain mitochondrial inner membranes. Methods: After removing and homogenizing the rat brain...

Comparison of Characteristics of Human Amniotic Membrane and Human Adipose Tissue Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

BACKGROUND Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are ideal candidates for treatment of diseases. Amniotic membranes are an inexpensive source of MSCs (AM-MSC) without any donor site morbidity in cell therapy. Adipose tissue derived stem cells (ASCs) are also suitable cells for cell therapy. There is discrepancy in CD271 expression among MSCs from different sources. In this study, the characteristics...
